Bearigo.
Memory. Roots. Imagination.
From a childhood in rural Brazil to a creative life in Spain, Elisângela Bearigo brings lived experience, Brazilian culture and a sense of wonder to stories for adults and children.
The woman behind the words
A life.
Many worlds.
Elisângela Bearigo is a Brazilian author and co-founder of Bearigo Studios, where she works alongside her creative partner, Daniel Bearigo. Her writing spans memoir, historical fiction, stories of the supernatural and children’s storytelling.
Her memoir series, I Am Angelina, draws on her remembered life: growing up in Brazil, becoming a mother, moving to Europe and finding ways to rebuild. Written with Daniel, it gives those experiences a voice across a continuing series.
Her imagination also reaches into other lives and other worlds. Across her work, questions of memory, belonging, family and the connection between people and the land take different forms.
Where her story begins
Roots in
Brazilian soil.
Elisângela’s story begins on a farm in Brazil. Family, animals and the rhythms of rural life form the setting of her earliest years, long before the journeys that would take her to Europe.
Brazil remains a presence throughout her writing. In Aruanda’s Children, her historical storytelling explores memory, cultural inheritance, resistance and belonging. Her wider creative work draws on Brazilian folklore, ancestry and the natural world.
These threads also reach younger readers through stories filled with imagination, warmth and discovery.

A continuing journey
A home in Spain.
Room to create.
Today, Elisângela lives on Spain’s Costa Blanca with Daniel. Together, they are building Bearigo Studios as a home for their books, original screen worlds, music and stories for younger audiences.
Their creative partnership brings together different histories and perspectives. Elisângela’s Brazilian roots, spirituality and connection to ancestry are part of that shared life and imagination.
Her story continues through the work she creates now, with room for new characters, new places and the next chapter.
